/ FRAG'MENTS /
FRAGMENTS IS A PROJECT THAT EXPLORES THE UNCONSCIOUS SPACES WITHIN DREAMS AND THE CONCEPT OF HOW THESE SPACES ARE CREATED, WHERE NOTHING WE SEE OR EXPERIENCE IS FOR CERTAIN RATHER A PROMISE OUR MIND HAS MADE US.
THESE FRAGMENTED MEMORIES OF SPACE ARE ONLY EXPERIENCED AS A WHOLE IN THE MOMENT AND THEREFORE THE MORE WE DELVE INTO THEM THE LESS CLEAR THEY ALL BECOMES, THE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ARE BLURRED AND THE IDEA OF TIME IS ELIMINATED.
ONLY WHEN WE WAKE UP DO WE REALISE IT WAS ALL CONSTRUCTED.
THROUGH THE UTILISATION OF 3D MAPPING AND PHOTOGRAMMETRY, TAKUMI CONSTRUCTS IMMERSIVE SPACES FROM REAL-WORLD ENVIRONMENTS THAT HAVE BEEN ABSTRACTED INTO FINELY CURATED POINT-CLOUDS. THIS PROCESS PLAYS WITH THE IDEA OF NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE DATA AND BY EXPLORING THE REALMS OF DREAMS, THE ARTIST HAS USED DATA AND TRANSLATION TO CREATE THESE REPRESENTATIONS OF UNCONSCIOUS REALITIES WHICH ULTIMATELY ONLY LIVE IN MEMORY.
